Message from the President
Edgardo E. Tulin, PhD
As we set the course of the Visayas State University in an era of globalization, we developed this strategic plan to outline the directions of this institution for the next ten years.
Over the past few years, we have made significant changes within our university. We are proud that we have established our university as one of the leading SUCs in the country. In fact, we are the first university to be granted a Level 3 Institutional Accreditation by the Accrediting Agency for Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines. We likewise excelled in research and community engagement as shown by numerous awards and achievements we have garnered in these fields. On top of these, we have sourced out funds from the government, industry, and other partners for new infrastructure and enabling facilities, so we could effectively implement our various agenda in research, instruction, and community engagement.
Despite these gains, many challenges are still at hand, as we embark on an ambitious and bold vision to be a globally competitive university. We crafted this plan to respond to these challenges.
In this document, we laid out seven strategic goals to achieve our vision. It is our dream to create an environment in the university where the faculty and staff are contented and successful in their respective responsibilities, where the students are assured of employment after graduation and have achieved their full potentials as individuals, and where the neighboring communities are empowered to use the technologies we have generated to improve their lives.
As we usher the way forward to celebrate 100 years as an academic institution, I hope this plan will be a source of inspiration for the university community. With everyone pitching in, we will achieve a much brighter future for our university.
